Guacamole Recipes

Famed Hawaiian chef Alan Wong is renowned for his intriguing twists on traditional recipes. He serves this simple but uniquely flavored guacamole with taro chips. If you can't find them, substitute shrimp chips or blue or yellow tortilla chips for a great beginning to an informal Asian-inspired dinner. If available, use Hass avocados, which have a fuller flavor than other types.

I have had more compliments on this guacamole recipe than any other---enjoy!

I add about 1/2 tsp garlic powder in mine and sometimes a drop or two of tabasco....it's really good!

Using more chilli (Seeded) ands extra 'zing' to your dip. Just remember that you always have to cater for the 'lowest commen denomenator' - there's no use that your more 'outgoing' friends enjoy the dip, when your less adventurous guests smile nicely and don't come back for 'seconds'. COMPRIMISE

this is true guacamole... any hot sauce or salsa should be on the side. enjoy!

I like my guacamole to taste like avacado, not something else, so go real EASY on other ingredients.Just enough to enhance the avacado, and make a creamy texture.

Adjustments may be made by increasing or decreasing amounts of onion, jalapeno, salt or coriander.

Can add a small chopped tomato and/or green chili peppers.

My husband likes his more lemony so he adds the other lemon, and sometimes, if we cannot find any ripe tomatoes, he puts in about a cup of his favorite chunky salsa (drained) instead of the tomatoes and onions.

This is one you must taste as you make it, to know how much you like of the different ingredients.
