Country Brunch American Brunch
My sister-in-law served this at a brunch for out-of-towners the day after her son's wedding. A big hit!.... beef and biscuit casserole ---- Beef My seven brothers loved this stuff and my mom would make a huge batch most Saturdays. It is quite the comfort food.... Ham Salad American Salad My secret for making the best ham salad is the old fashioned meat grinder I use. I don't really measure the ingredients, so these are an approximation.... chicken quesadillas ---- Chicken My roommate and I used to make these often. You could add whatever else you wanted to. It is a good way to use up left over grilled or baked chicken.... Sauerkraut Pyrishky ---- Appetizer My Polish, German and Ukrainian friends in Winnipeg made this rich treat every Christmas and it is so-o-o-o good.,.... Bigos (Polish Hunter's Stew) Polish Beef My neighbor who is polish makes a version of this using other meats or just a couple of meats. It's pretty good. He usually uses pork, beef and chicke.... Rhubard and Apple crumble British Dessert My Nana taught me to cook during wartime in England and Ive never forgotten and her recipes have come in very handy when the dollars wern't there!.... Yorkshire Pudding British Bread My mother-in-law is from London, so this is something we've been making & enjoying for years..... Cranberry Salad ---- Salad My mother made this for years and now I make it for my grandchildren..... Hungarian Cabbage Rolls Hungarian Pork My mother always made it on top of the stove but some people prefer baking in the oven. I like it both ways. The meat is a little more tender if bak.... GINGERBREAD ---- Bread MY MOTHER ALWAYS AT THIS WITH A GLASS OF BUTTERMILK, NOT BEING A FAN OF BUTTERMILK, I HAVE ALWAYS SERVED IT WITH FRESH WHIPPED CREAM OR VANILLA ICE CR.... shepherds pie Egyptian Lamb My mom used to make this with leftover leg of lamb and gravy, which I thought was wonderful, but as we don't have leg of lamb too often I improvised t.... braunswager dip German Dips My mom use to make this dip for all the family get toghethers and now I do the same. It is sooooooo good..... Dirt Cake American Dessert My Mom probably got this recipe from her local newspaper back in the late 60's or so. It was REAL impressive the first time she did it. This is a fav.... Penuche ---- Confections My mom makes this for my husband every Christmas. She finally gave us the recipe this year..... Maryland Fried Chicken ---- Chicken My Mom had always made fried chicken when I was a kid and I picked up her technique. At one time I fond myself in need of a recipe for Maryland fried.... Frozen Strawberry Yogurt ---- Dessert My machine also came with recipes for Frozen cinnamon Nut yougurt, Frozen pina colada yogurt, Frozen Cherry yogurt, Frozen blueberry yogurt, and froze.... Beefed Up Biscuit Casserole American Beef My kids used to call this "Alligator Stew"....don't know why. It's been in my family for over 20 years.....
