My kids used to call this "Alligator Stew"....don't know why. It's been in my family for over 20 years.

Ingredients

  • 1# hamburger
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 small green pepper chopped
  • 1 can tomato soup (undiluted)
  • 1 small can kernel corn
  • 1 small can green beans (optional)
  • 1/2 C sour cream
  • Shredded cheddar cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Canned biscuits

Directions

Brown hamburger, drain and set aside. In drippings, saute onion, green pepper.

In mixing bowl mix hamburger, onion, green pepper, corn and green beans. In separate bowl mix tomato soup and sour cream, mix until smooth, add enough water to be able to pour the mixture, about 1/2-3/4 C. Mix this with beef/veggie mixture. Salt and pepper to taste

Pour into baking dish, Bake at 350F for 15 minutes. Remove from oven, place biscuits joining each other on top. Sprinkle cheddar cheese on top.

Return to oven and continue baking until cheese is melted and biscuits are browned, about 15-25 minutes longer.

Let sit 10 minutes before serving
