Walnut Recipes

Optional applications: Use leftover hummus as bread spread in a sandwich or with tabboulleh and grilled or roasted vegetables for a complete vegetarian meal.

Tiny couscous grains are made from semolina, the same wheat product that is used in making pasta. Like pasta, it is dried, and has a subtle flavor that adapts well to a variety of flavorings and additions, and it is equally good served hot with a sauce or cold in a salad. For this recipe, use a box of plain couscous, without added seasonings. After a brief sojourn in hot water, it is ready to use.

If you have a Walnut tree, or access to one, you may produce this English recipe. Green Walnuts (picked in June and July, before the shell has formed and can harden in the pickle.)are used. If you push a thin skewer or knitting needle into the nut, you will be able to feel when the nut is beginning to form. Be sure to wear rubber gloves as walnuts stain badly.

For ice cream, steamed pudding or gingerbread, served hot or cold. Recipe does not say unripe walnuts.

You might want to package some in pretty containers to give as gifts.

This is excellent recipe .. can also be used for pecan halves. My family likes it as a snack.

This is a ridiculously easy recipe with no baking required. Excellent with salads or just as a candy.

Please note apples are cut into wedges/chunks not slices as usual.
