• 1/4 cup melted margarine
  • 6 tbs. carob powder
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts


Preheat oven to 300 degrees F. Grease an 8-inch square pan. Put the margarine, carob, sugar, egg whites, salt, flour, and vanilla in a mixing bowl and stir briskly until blended. Add the walnuts and stir. Spread the dough evenly in the baking pan. Bake 30-35 minutes. Remove from the oven and let cool 10 minutes. Cut into 2-inch squares, remove from the pan and place on a rack to cool completly.
