Ingredients

  • 1 broiler-fryer chicken, cut in parts
  • 3/4 cup flour, divided
  • 2 tsps. baking powder
  • 1 Tbsp. seasoned salt
  • 3/4 cup beer
  • 1 cup cooking oil

Directions

In a bowl, mix together 1/2 cup flour, baking powder and salt, add beer and stir. In a shallow dish, place remaining 1/4 cup flour.Add chicken, one piece at a time, to flour, turning to coat. Dip chicken, one piece at a time, in beer mixture.
In a skillet, heat 1 inch of oil to medium temperature. Add chicken; cook, turning once, about 30 minutes or until chicken is golden brown and fork tender. Drain.


Makes 4 servings each with 940 calories, 51 g fat and 306 mg cholesterol.
