I like to put some rutabagas in my vegetable soup. Also, you can combine equal amounts of mashed rutabagas and mashed potatoes.

Ingredients

  • 2 to 3 medium rutabagas
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • Dash nutmeg, if desired
  • 1/4 cup hot milk
  • 1/4 cup margarine or butter

Directions

Peel, slice and cook rutabagas. (Slice or cube into into 2-inch pieces. Boil in salted water 20 - 30 minutes or until tender; drain well.) In large bowl, mash hot rutabagas, using a potato masher. Add remaining ingredients; mash until light and fluffy.
