Ingredients

  • 1 lb Self Raising Flour
  • 8 oz Suet
  • 4 oz Breadcrumbs (dark bread)
  • 6 oz Sugar
  • 2 teasp Mixed Spice
  • 1 teasp Ginger
  • 1 teasp. Cinnamon
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 lb Currants
  • 1 lb Sultanas
  • 2 tablesp Treacle
  • 2 tablesp Syrup

Directions

Mix all dry ingredients then add treacle, syrup, eggs and either milk or beer to make a soft dropping consistancey. Pour into a bowl and cover with greaseproof paper then tin foil. Boil for 4-5 hours.
