This is the recipe as it was in my 4H book some 30 years ago. I've seen a version since that reduced the vinegar to 1 tbsp but I didn't care for that. when I make it I cut up the chicken into smaller pieces, I find it more flavourful that way.
Ingredients
- 6 chicken breasts
- 1 tbsp oil
- 1/4 cup soy sauced
- 1 can mushroom soup
- 1/4 cup vinegar
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 onion chopped fine
Directions
Combine oil & soy sauce, fry chicken in it for approx 3 minutes, turning several times. Transfer to medium casserole. Combine remaining ingredients, stir in soy sauce from pan, pour over chicken. Bake 350F for 35 minutes.
