Ingredients

  • 2 T. butter
  • 1 1/2 c. granulated sugar, divided
  • 1 c. flour
  • 1 t. baking powder
  • 3/4 c. milk
  • 2 c. fresh peaches
  • 1 c. boiling water
  • Whipping cream

Directions

Beat together thoroughly the butter, 1/2 cup sugar,flour, baking powder and milk. Pour into buttered 8 or 9-inch square or round pan.

Mix peaches and 1 cup sugar; spread over batter and pour boiling water over all. Bake at 350 degrees F. for 30-45 minutes. May be served warm or cooled with whipped cream.
