• 4 large cloves garlic, peeled
  • 1 (1 lb, 14 oz) can chickpeas, drained
  • 2/3 c. tahini (sesame seed paste)
  • 1 1/2 t. cumin powder
  • 1/3 c. lemon juice
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 T. olive oil


Put all ingredients, except salt and pepper, in bowl of food processor. Puree until smooth, about 2 minutes, then add salt and pepper to taste. Pour onto a large plate, and pour olive oil on top. Garnish with parsley.

Serve with sliced vegetables and/or pita cut in wedges for a dip.
