Ingredients
- Sift into a bowl:
- 2 c flour
- 1/3c white or 1/2 c brown sugar
- 2 tsp. baking power
- 1 tsp. salt
- Melt and cool slightly:
- 2 Tbl. butter
- Beat until light
- 1 egg
- Beat with the egg:
- 1 cup milk
- Add the melted butter.
- Beat the liquid ingred. into sifted ingred.
- Fold in:
- 3/4c coarsely chopped nuts or dates
- Place dough in a greased bread pan.
- Bake about 40 min. at 350 degrees
Directions
I would add a chopped apple to this and maybe reduce the milk a little or add 1/4c more flour since it will be more moist. With the apple it might taste good with 1 tsp. cinnamon too.
