Quick Nut or Date Bread Recipe


Sift into a bowl:
2 c flour
1/3c white or 1/2 c brown sugar
2 tsp. baking power
1 tsp. salt
Melt and cool slightly:
2 Tbl. butter
Beat until light
1 egg
Beat with the egg:
1 cup milk
Add the melted butter.
Beat the liquid ingred. into sifted ingred.
Fold in:
3/4c coarsely chopped nuts or dates
Place dough in a greased bread pan.
Bake about 40 min. at 350 degrees

I would add a chopped apple to this and maybe reduce the milk a little or add 1/4c more flour since it will be more moist. With the apple it might taste good with 1 tsp. cinnamon too.
