I find the flavor of most bottled teriyaki sauces too sweet. In this recipe that sugar is balanced with a spike of spice and a balm of fragrant sesame oil.
Ingredients
- Oil for coating the grill rack
- 1/3 cup teriyaki sauce
- 1 teaspoon Chinese chili paste
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame oil
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breast halves
- 1 orange, cut into 8 wedges
Directions
Heat a grill set up for direct grilling to high; brush the rack with oil. Meanwhile, mix the teriyaki sauce, chili paste, and sesame oil in a large bowl. Marinate the chicken breasts in the mixture while the grill is heating. Grill until browned and cooked through, 4 to 5 minutes per side. Serve each chicken breast half with 2 orange wedges.
