Ingredients

  • 2 cups sifted wheat flour
  • 1 cup corn meal
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 3 tsp baking powder
  • 3/4 cup molasses
  • 2 cups buttermilk

Directions

Mix. Grease 3 cans. Fill. Cover with tin foil. Steam 3 hours-water in pan. Uncover and dry in 450 degree oven for 5 minutes. Cut with a string.
