Ingredients
- 1 tsp. vanilla
- 2 egg whites
- 1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
- 1/4 tsp. salt
- 3/4 c. sugar
Directions
Beat egg whites with vanilla, cream of tartar and salt,
until soft peaks form; gradually add sugar and beat until very
stiff. Turn meringue into pastry bag with plain or fluted tip.
Pike kisses about 1 1/2 inches in diameter onto foil covered
baking sheet. Bake in 250 degrees oven 35 to 40 minutes, until
lightly browned.
Chocolate Meringue Kisses: Fold 1/2 square unsweetened
chocolate, grated into meringue before turning into pastry
tube.
Pecan Meringue Kisses: Lightly press a pecan half into
each meringue kiss before baking.
