Ingredients

  • 1=cps. sugar
  • 1/2 c. cooking oil
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 c. pumpkin
  • 1 3/4 c. flour
  • 1/4 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp. allspice
  • 1/3 c. water
  • 1/2 c. raisins (optional)
  • nuts (optional)

Directions

Add sugar to oil; then add eggs, pumpkin, spices sifted
with flour, water and raisins. Bake one hour at 350 degrees. Makes
one large or two small loaves.
Pumpkin Dessert Rolls: Make in cans. Grease 4 empty
cans (15 or 16 ounce) with shortening and fill cans 1/2 to 2/3
full using pumpkin bread recipe (adding either raisins or
dates). Bake 40 minutes at 350 degrees. Slice rolls and serve topped
with ice cream or whipped cream.
