Ingredients

  • 2 pints fresh strawberries
  • 1/3 cup sugar
  • 1/3 cup Grand Marnier or other orange-flavored liqueur
  • Zest or grated rind of 1 orange
  • Sweetened whipped cream (optional)

Directions

Wash and hull strawberries, and pat dry. Combine sugar, Grand Marnier and orange zest in a large bowl; stir until sugar dissolves. Add strawberries, stir gently to coat.

Cover and chill 2 to 3 hours, stirring occasionally. Spoon into individual dishes; top with whipped cream, if desired.

4 to 6 servings.
