This sauce can be 'kicked up' by adding a few dashes of your favorite hot sauce.


  • 1/2 pkg. penne noodles
  • 1 slice bacon, finely chopped
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, crushed
  • 2 1/2 cups whipping cream
  • 5 1/2 oz. can tomato paste
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 1/4 cup vodka
  • 1 tbsp. olive oil
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese, divided


Cook penne according to package directions.
Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Stir in bacon, onion and garlic; cook until lightly browned. Stir in cream, tomato paste, salt, pepper and vodka; simmer 10 minutes. Stir 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese into tomato mixture. Stir in penne noodles; mix well. Top with remaining cheese. Serve immediately.

Makes 4 to 6 servings
