Ingredients
- Night before:
- French bread cut into 1 inch slices
- 6 whole eggs or egg substitute
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- 1 1/2 cups milk and 1 1/2 cups half and half (may use fat free if desired)
- In the morning:
- 1/2 cup soft butter or margarine
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 3 tablespoons dark corn syrup
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Directions
Night before: Spray 9"x13" pan. Place bread slices in pan. Mix the "night before" ingredients and pour over bread slices. Cover and refrigerate overnight.
In the morning: Combine "morning" ingredients to form topping. Spread the topping over the bread slices. Bake at 350 until golden brown, about 40 minutes.
