Southern Pecan French Toast Casserole Recipe

  Brunch

Ingredients:
Night before:

French bread cut into 1 inch slices
6 whole eggs or egg substitute
1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 1/2 cups milk and 1 1/2 cups half and half (may use fat free if desired)

In the morning:

1/2 cup soft butter or margarine
1 cup brown sugar
3 tablespoons dark corn syrup
1 cup chopped pecans

Directions:
Night before: Spray 9"x13" pan. Place bread slices in pan. Mix the "night before" ingredients and pour over bread slices. Cover and refrigerate overnight.

In the morning: Combine "morning" ingredients to form topping. Spread the topping over the bread slices. Bake at 350 until golden brown, about 40 minutes.
