• 1/2 C butter or butter-flavored crisco
  • 1-1/2 C granulated sugar
  • 1-1/2 C brown sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 4 eggs
  • 19 oz jar peanut butter
  • 6 C uncooked oats
  • 2-1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 6 oz chocolate chips


In large mixer bowl, mix together butter and sugars; blend in eggs and vanilla. Add peanut butter; blend. Combine oats and baking soda; add to mixture and blend well. Stir in chocolate chips.
Drop by ice cream scoop onto ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake 12-15 minutes at 375 degrees: cookies should be very lightly browned and just barely "set". Do not overbake. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet before removing. Store tightly covered.
For smaller cookies, bake 8-10 minutes.
Cookies freeze well.
