Ingredients

  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1/2 lb lean ground pork
  • ap1 pkg dry mushroom soup mix
  • 1/2 cup fine dry bread crumbs
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1 egg
  • 1 can (7.5 oz) pizza sauce
  • 4 oz mozzarella, fontina or provolone cheese, sliced

Directions

Combine beef, pork, soup mix, bread crumbs, onion, egg and half of the pizza sauce; mix well. Press in 9 inch skillet with heat resistant handle or 9 inch pie plate.
Bake in 375F oven 40 to 45 minutes or until meat is cooked and no longer pink. Drain off fat.
Spread remaining pizza sauce over meat; arrange cheese on top. Bake 5 minutes longer. Cut into wedges to serve.


Makes 8 servings.
