Ingredients

  • 2 lbs. chuck, cubed
  • 2 onions, quartered
  • 4 potatoes, pared and quartered
  • 2 carrots, peeled, quartered
  • 1/4 cup. dry breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 1 tsp thyme
  • 1 1-lb. can tomatoes and juice
  • 1 tsp worcestershire sauce
  • 3/4 cup dry, red wine
  • 1/2 pkg. frozen peas
  • 1 4oz. can mushrooms

Directions

In a large casserole with cover, combine all ingredients except peas and mushrooms. Place in a 325 degree oven for three hours. Add peas and mushrooms and cook, uncovered, for an additional 30 minutes. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
