In-the-oven stew Recipe

  Stew

Ingredients:
2 lbs. chuck, cubed
2 onions, quartered
4 potatoes, pared and quartered
2 carrots, peeled, quartered
1/4 cup. dry breadcrumbs
1 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp pepper
1 tsp thyme
1 1-lb. can tomatoes and juice
1 tsp worcestershire sauce
3/4 cup dry, red wine
1/2 pkg. frozen peas
1 4oz. can mushrooms

Directions:
In a large casserole with cover, combine all ingredients except peas and mushrooms. Place in a 325 degree oven for three hours. Add peas and mushrooms and cook, uncovered, for an additional 30 minutes. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
