• 2 cups sugar
  • 1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 2 T. margarine
  • 1/2 cup vinegar
  • 1/2 cup corn syrup
  • few grains salt


Combine. Boil to hard ball stage(265-270 degrees F.)Pour into buttered, flat pans. Butter hands. As soon as it can be handled, pick up and pull. Pull and pull between hands until it turns white. Pull into ropes; cut.Coloring and flavoring can be added while taffy is being pulled
