It is very important to constantly stir the mixture after peanuts are added. It will start turning color very fast, so watch closely.
Ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup white Karo syrup
- 1/2 cup water
- Cook uhtil it spins a thread (abut 25-30 mintues)
- Add:
- 1# raw spanish peanuts (2 cups)
- Stir constantly until light tan in color, about 15 minutes. Remove from heat and add remainder ingredients
- 1/2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 tsp sal
- 1 T butter
- 2 tsp baking soda.
- Pour immediately on greased cookie sheet. Let cook, then crack into bite size pieces.
