Ingredients

  • 4 cps. coarsely shredded cabbage
  • 1 (16 oz. can) tomatoes, (do not drain)
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. oregano
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cp. grated cheddar cheese
  • 1 cp. bread crumbs, finely ground

Directions

Cook cabbage in boiling water, til wilted -- about 5-6 minutes. Drain well. Combine tomatoes, sugar and oregano, gently break up tomatoes. In a greased (I use non-stick spray) baking dish, place cabbage sprinkled with salt and pepper, covered with tomatoe mixture, then cheese, then crumbs. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes in a 350 degree oven, or till heated thoroughly.


Serves 4 to 6.
