You can add a 3-4 tbsp. red wine if desired.


  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2 large fresh mushrooms
  • 1/2 tsp. dry basil
  • 2 tbsp. butter
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)
  • 2 (1 1/2 inch) tenderloins
  • 2 thick slices French bread, toasted


Saute garlic, basil & mushrooms in butter until garlic is brown and mushrooms are tender; remove mushrooms & set aside. Sprinkle steaks with salt & pepper. Add to skillet; cook over medium high heat 4 minutes on each side for medium or until desired degree of doneness. To serve, place steak on bread; top with mushrooms. Spoon drippings over steaks & serve immediately.

Serves 2.
