Ingredients
- BATTER (or use your favorite French Toast batter)
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 teas. sugar
- 1/4 tsp cinnamon
- dash nutneg
- ANDWICHES
- 4 slices sourdough or white bread
- 2 slices deli turkey (1/2 oz)
- 2 slices swiss cheese (1/2 oz)
- 2 slices deli ham (1/2 oz)
- Vetegable oil for frying
- GARNISH
- Confectioner's sugar
- red currant jelly
Directions
Mix batter ingredients in a shallow bowl and set aside. Make two sandwiches, putting cheese between ham and turkey. Cut diagonally into quarters. Dip sandwish quarters in batter to cover all surfaces. Fry in 1/2 inch of oil until golden brown, turning as needed. Remove from oil, sprinkle with confectioner's sugar. Serve with jelly.
