Monte Cristo Sandwiches Recipe

  Turkey

Ingredients:
BATTER (or use your favorite French Toast batter)
1 egg
1/2 cup milk
1 teas. sugar
1/4 tsp cinnamon
dash nutneg
ANDWICHES
4 slices sourdough or white bread
2 slices deli turkey (1/2 oz)
2 slices swiss cheese (1/2 oz)
2 slices deli ham (1/2 oz)
Vetegable oil for frying
GARNISH
Confectioner's sugar
red currant jelly

Directions:
Mix batter ingredients in a shallow bowl and set aside. Make two sandwiches, putting cheese between ham and turkey. Cut diagonally into quarters. Dip sandwish quarters in batter to cover all surfaces. Fry in 1/2 inch of oil until golden brown, turning as needed. Remove from oil, sprinkle with confectioner's sugar. Serve with jelly.
