• 4 lbs. chopped beef
  • < c. vegetable oil
  • 2 or more qts. water
  • 4 cans tomatoes, chopped, not drained
  • 3 lg. chopped onions
  • 1 tbsp. garlic powder
  • 1 tbsp. cumin
  • 4-5 cans kidney beans, not drained


Brown meat in oil, breaking up as it browns. Add onion near the end of browning. Mix in the remaining ingredients. Cook over low heat about 3 hours or till as thick as you like. Add water if necessary to get right consistency. Serves 20-25.
