Chili Con Carne Recipe

  American Chili

Ingredients:
4 lbs. chopped beef
< c. vegetable oil
2 or more qts. water
4 cans tomatoes, chopped, not drained
3 lg. chopped onions
1 tbsp. garlic powder
1 tbsp. cumin
4-5 cans kidney beans, not drained

Directions:
Brown meat in oil, breaking up as it browns. Add onion near the end of browning. Mix in the remaining ingredients. Cook over low heat about 3 hours or till as thick as you like. Add water if necessary to get right consistency. Serves 20-25.
