Ingredients

  • 2 lb. butternut squash
  • = c. packed brown sugar
  • < c. melted butter or margarine
  • 1 tbsp. flour
  • <-1/2 tsp. mace or cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 2-3 baking apples, cored & cut into = slices

Directions

Slice elongated portion of squash into = inch round slices and pare. Cut remainder of squash in half. Remove seeds and fibers. Pare and cut into = inch slices. Mix brown sugar, margarine, flour, salt and mace. Arrange squash in oblong baking dish 12 x 7 = x 2 inches. Top with apples. Sprinkle sugar mixture over top. Cover and bake in a 350: oven until squash is tender, approximately 50-60 minutes. Serves 6.
