Ingredients

  • 1/4 c. Crisco melted
  • 1/2 c. cocoa
  • 1/4 t. salt
  • 1/3 c. milk
  • 1-1/2 t. vanilla
  • 3-1/2 c. confectioners sugar (sift if lumpy)

Directions

In a saucepan, melt Crisco. Remove from heat after melting and add cocoa and salt. Stir in milk and vanilla. Put all the sugar in the bowl of a mixer. Add chocolate mixture to sugar. Mix at medium speed until smooth and creamy. Add 1 more T. milk, if needed for good spreading consistency.


Frosts two 8-or 9- inch cakes
