Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 Cups flour (sifted)
  • 1 tsp. soda
  • 1 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 2/3 cup margarine
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 3/4 cup well-drained chopped sauerkraut

Directions

Add soda, baking powder, salt & cocoa to sifted flour and sift again together. Cream margarine & sugar till light & fluffy. Add vanilla. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each. Add dry ingredients, alternately with the 1 cup of water beating till smooth. Add sauerkraut & mix well.
Pour into greased 9x13 pan. Bake at 375 degrees for 35 minutes.
