Ingredients

  • Chuck English roast, or shoulder roast,
  • whatever size you want.
  • 1 pkg dry onion soup mix
  • 1 or 2 bay leaves
  • NO additional salt
  • optional:
  • mushrooms
  • carrots
  • potatoes

Directions

Sear the roast on all sides in a heavy Dutch oven. When all sides are well browned add 1 cup of water and the envelope of onion soup mix. Also add 1 or 2 bay leaves. Cover and bake for 1-1/2 hr or until fork tender. Vegetables may be added half way into cooking
