Ingredients
- 1 stick butter
- 1 stick margarine
- 2 c. sugar
- 4 eggs
- 3 3/4 c. flour
- 1 tsp. baking soda
- 1 1/2 c. sour cream
- 2 tsp. vanilla
- 1 1/2 c. chopped walnuts
- 1 1/2 c. dates
- 1 c. cherries (optional)
Directions
Cream together butter, margarine, sugar and eggs. Add remaining ingredients. Pour into a greased, floured tube pan or Bundt pan. Bake at 350 for 1 hour and 20 minutes. Remove from oven and while cake is still hot, mix: 1/2 cup orange juice, 1/3 cup sugar and 1/4 cup of whiskey in a bowl. Pour over cake at once. Cool three hours before removing from pan.
