Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 4 tablespoons Calumet baking powder
- 1 tablespoon Sugar
- 2 eggs (beaten to mix)
- 1 cup milk
- Glaze: My own
- 1 cup sugar
- 1/2 cup butter (melted
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 1/4 cups confectioner's sugar
- 1/2 teasponn salt
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
- Optional: 1/4 teaspoon Almond or walnut flavoring or few drops of vegetable coloring
Directions
Donuts: Mix flour, baking powder & sugar. Combine eggs and milk and addto misture, mixing well. Beat until batter is smooth. Drop by teaspoonfuls into 1 1/2 inches hot (375 degree) fat or oil in deep saucepan. Fry 3 - 5 minutes, until golden brown, turning one. Drain on absorbent paper. Sprinkle with confectioner's sugar or glaze. Makes about 4 dozen. You can use a donut maker dispenser if you want the hole in the middle.
Glaze: Mix sugar, butter, & milk and stir over heat until mixed well, then boil for 1 minute. Cool slightly and add confectioner's sugar, salt, and vanilla as well as optional items. Makes 1 1/2 cups
