Ingredients

  • 1 lbs. ground sausage
  • 5 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. pepper
  • 4 cups milk
  • Biscuits:
  • 2 cups flour
  • 3 tsp. baking powder
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2/3 cup milk

Directions

Spray a large skillet with Pam cooking spray. Brown sausage and drain well. Add flour and stir until well blended. Stir in milk, salt and pepper (less pepper maybe used). Bring to a boil and stir until thickens. Serve over biscuits.
Biscuits: Stir together dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Stir in milk until just moist and blended well. Turn onto a floured board and pat into a circle 1/2" thick. Cut out biscuits. Place on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes or until golden brown on the bottoms.
