Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 lbs. of flank steak
  • 1/4 C vegetable oil
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 tsp ea. salt and pepper
  • 3 large green onions, sliced
  • 2 green peppers sliced
  • 1/2 tsp sugar
  • 1/2 C beef bouillon
  • 1 T cornstarch
  • 1/4 C cold water
  • 1 tsp ginger
  • 1/4 C soy sauce

Directions

Freeze the steak for 1 hour and then slice into 1/8" thick slices.

Heat oil in large skillet or wok, saute steak strips for 2 minutes at 375F and then remove from pan. Add the green pepper and onion. Saute for 3 minutes. Return meat to skillet/wok and add soy sauce, sugar, bouillon, cornstarch and water.

Lower heat and simmer for 2 minutes until sauce thickens

Serve over rice. Serves 6-8 I have found that if you pre-mix the water and cornstarch into a paste before adding to the mixture, it helps. Also use very cold water. Also I use a wooden whisk to make sure the sauce comes out smoothly. Hope this helps
