I looked for a good Enchilada sauce for ages cause I wanted more of a gravy consistancy. This is pretty authenic!


  • 1 large onion
  • 2 tbls. olive oil
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 tbls.garlic powder
  • 2 tbls. good chili powder
  • 1 tsp.each, cumin,marjoram,oregano
  • 1 tbls. Knorr chicken bouillon or other
  • 1 quart water


chop onion, saute with oil until transparent, add flour until coated. Add water and all ingredients, STIR or WHISK until thickened, simmer for 1/2 hour.(Add more chilipowderif you like more kick)
