We grew up with this recipe -- sorry it's not an exact recipe -- but this was how we all learned to make it -- any time we've tried to translate it -- it got confusing -- The exact combinations usually work out to be a matter of taste.
Ingredients
- Hot Dogs
- Pototatos
- canned milk (evaporated)
- grated/shredded cheese (optional)
- pepper to taste
- salt to taste (optional)
- flour
Directions
Grease a casserole dish.
Slice potatoes (thinner is best)
Slice hot dogs (not thin, not thick)
layer potatoes, hotdogs, and just a bit of the cheese (if using), pepper to taste, sprinkle / toss cheese with just a bit flour.
After layers are complete, pour the evaporated milk over just enough to coat & soak (not too much).
Bake in oven at casserole heat (approx 350 or 375) until pototaes are done.
