Note: to dry orange peel, place on cookie sheet in a toaster oven at about 200 degress for an hour or more. You'll know it's really dry if it snaps. Note that packaged orange peel does not work for this recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups dry hot chocolate mix
  • rind of 1 orange, peeled in long strips about 1/2 inch wide
  • 1 t ground cinnamon
  • 1 large cinnamon stick, whole

Directions

Dry the orange (see below), and break into lengths about 2 or 3 inches. Mix with the hot chocolate and cinnamon, and store in an airtight jar. Let sit 2 weeks or more to let the orange flavour come through.
