Ingredients

  • 1 cup crushed saltines
  • 6 tablespoons margarine, melted and divided
  • 2 large onions, thinly sliced (approximately 2-3 cups)
  • 2 eggs, beaten
  • 1 (8-ounce) carton sour cream or 1 cup Ricotta cheese or 1/2 cup each
  • 1-2 tablespoons fresh dill (optional)
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire
  • 1/2 cup grated Cheddar cheese
  • 4 slices bacon, fried, drained, and crumbled

Directions

Combine saltines and 4 tablespoons margarine. Press into 9-inch pie plate. Saute onions in remaining butter; place in pie shell. Combine eggs, sour cream, dill, salt, pepper, and Worcestershire. Pour mixture over onions. Sprinkle with cheese; garnish with bacon. Bake at 350 degrees F for 30 minutes.
