TOMATO BASIL SOUP Recipe

  Italian Soup

    




Ingredients:
1 cube margarine or butter
8 Tbsp. flour
4 c. milk
1 (12 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 can diced tomatoes
season to taste with salt and
pepper
2 tsp. basil

Make roux from margarine and flour. Cook 10 minutes on
medium heat. Stir so it does not burn. Add milk. When milk
thickens add tomato sauce and tomatoes. Stir constantly so it
does not scorch. Add salt, pepper and basil. Makes approxi-
mately 6 cups soup.
