Ingredients

  • A dozen or so of jalapeno peppers
  • Cream cheese
  • Cheddar cheese
  • Any cheese you enjoy
  • 2 Eggs slightly beaten with a little milk
  • Seasoned breadcrumbs

Directions

Slice the pepper in half. Remove the white membranes and seeds (these are what gives the pepper the hot). Sometimes you may miss some and you'll get a hot popper.

Fill the half of a pepper with your choice of cheese. Dip in egg and roll in breadcrumbs. Repeat. The second coating prevents the cheese from leaking out while deep frying. I do this in stages. Give the poppers all a first coating, then a second at the same time. That gives a little time to dry between coatings.

Deep fry. I have a "Fry Daddy" fryer. Makes deep frying at home easy.
