Ingredients

  • 4 lg oranges
  • 8 dates
  • 4 tsp chopped walnuts
  • 4 tsp raisins
  • 4 tbls sugar
  • 1 egg white, stiffly beaten
  • 4 tsp grated coconut

Directions

Cut a tin slice from stem end of oranges. Cut triangles evely from top (to form a crown shape). Remove orange pulp, dice, and combine with dates, nuts, raisins, and 2 tbls of the sugar. fill orange shells and bake in a casserole with 1/2"" water, at 300* for 45 minutes. Fold beaten egg white and remaining sugar together. Remove baked oranges from oven, top with egg mixture, sprinkle with coconut and return to oven for 15 minutes.
