Is this what you're looking for? Recipe calls for split peas, but I'm sure lentils will work. This is very good bread. I also have "PeaLentiful Spice Bars", a good spice cake, if you're interested.

Ingredients

  • 2 c. split pea (or lentil) puree
  • 2/3 c. shortening
  • 2 2/3 c. sugar
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 1/3 c. sifted flour
  • 2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 tsp. cinnamom
  • 1/2 tsp. cloves
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2/3 c. water
  • 1 rounded c. chopped nuts

Directions

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well. Stir in puree and water. Stir in sifted dry ingredients and nuts. Bake in two well-greased 9"x5" loaf pans at 350F for 60-70 minutes. Turn out and cool.
