Ingredients:
2 c. split pea (or lentil) puree2/3 c. shortening 2 2/3 c. sugar 4 eggs 3 1/3 c. sifted flour 2 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1 tsp. cinnamom 1/2 tsp. cloves 1/2 tsp. nutmeg 2/3 c. water 1 rounded c. chopped nuts
Directions:
Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well. Stir in puree and water. Stir in sifted dry ingredients and nuts. Bake in two well-greased 9"x5" loaf pans at 350F for 60-70 minutes. Turn out and cool.Is this what you're looking for? Recipe calls for split peas, but I'm sure lentils will work. This is very good bread. I also have "PeaLentiful Spice Bars", a good spice cake, if you're interested.
